FoodTripFriday – Calamare w/ Tartar Zest

Anyone wants calamare or calamares? Well go to Korean store uphill at squirrel hills Pittsburgh and buy their clean and big squid heheeh. TGIF once again and thank God I finally eaten a bunch of seafood this week. I asked my husband to drive me to korean store so i can buy pancit, bihon, shrimps, mung bean, and other. I had been there many times before but never seen any squid, so when I saw this big squid i grabbed it right away. It cost $5.99 for two pieces of big squid that is already cleaned. I look online for calamare recipe and luckily I found one that is very simple to do. All you need is egg white, lime juice or 5 pieces of lemon for the marinade and fry it in an oil as simple as that. I got tartar zest which is good for seafood dipping and I’m good to go. Even Joe who doesn’t eat seafood love it as in loving it. He can’t stop eating, he only save four pieces of calamares for me. I’m planning to make a trip again in that store to buy more squid. That's a great-looking calamares – maganda ang pagka-fry mo and pati ang presentation bongga! When I make mine, I use entire eggs, pwede naman palang eggwhite lang at mas healthy.

Meron naman squid sa Wal-mart di bah? tapos ready cut na, fry mo na lang, kaso malalaki,feeling ko parang goma pag niluto, lol!

Ang takaw naman nang mister mo, apat na piraso lang ang tinira sa iyo? Ilang slices kaya ang nagawa mo sa dalawng malaking piraso nang calamares? Sana pinirito mo na lang yung mga piranha mo at iyon ang ipinakain mo sa kanya, lol. Joke lang frend, huwag kang mapipikon, joke lang. Masarap talaga ang crispy calamares. Dito nga sa Pinas ay nauso yung fried calamares sa mga kanto at lahat halos ay bumubili nito hanggang ibulgar ni Jessica Soho nang channbel 7 na iyung mga imported frozen calamares palang ginagamit nang mga vendors ay laced with formaldehyde, ngeeeek. Biglang walang kumain nang mga pritong calamares dahil sa takot nang mga tao. Biro mo buhay ka pa eh iniimbalsamo na ang katawan mo. Dapat sa mga piranha mo iapply ang formalin para matigil na katakawan nila. Sige, thanks for the post. God bless you all always.

Oh my calamares!!I have tasted the best calamares sa probincya namin,Mommy Tsang!but unlike dito na malalaki,nagulat ako sa kaliitan lol!buti na lang tinirhan ka pa ng asawa mo lol!
sarap nga ng calamares, dapat sandali lang syang lutuin kundi magiging rubbery, pero try ko yang sauce mo ha, mukhang delicious din,para maiba nmn, LOL..
Oh my DH loves this too, but don't let him smell it while cooking. He will not eat it…lol. Ok lang kapag luto na at wala ng amoy.
