I also bought a pack of pork siopao asado aside from Lumpia Shanghai when i shopped online for pinoy goodies. The pack had 4 pieces of siopao inside for $4.79. The price is too expensive for siopao if we compared it to the original price in the Philippines. Well, folks this is America and the item that worth 1 peso back home would probably cost $1 if it is imported in other foreign country. hehehe
I just want to try my new steamer that i also shopped online.
Siopao is a popular food item in the Philippines. It does not require utensils to eat and can be consumed on-the-go. It is a Hokkien term for baozi, literally meaning steamed buns. It is also called salapao in Thailand. Like baozi, there are several siopao stuffing varieties which could be either Asado or bola-bola that may use pork, chicken, beef, shrimp or salted duck eggs.
