Super-Simple Macaron Recipe

Dreaming of delicious raspberry macarons? If you can never order enough to keep your family satisfied, here’s a quick and easy recipe for creating some of your own at home!

You will need:

1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 cup raspberry jam
3 large egg whites
3 teaspoons water
2 or 3 drops of food coloring (optional)

Directions:

1: Start by whipping the sugar, flour and a single egg white in a large mixing bowl. The blend will be thick and mostly dehydrated. That’s expected.

2: On the stove, heat your water and another dash of sugar until the mixture comes to a boil. You want it very, very hot, enough that the sugar crystals melt into a kind of syrup, but be careful not to let it evaporate away.

3: In another bowl, whisk the two remaining egg whites until they’re soft and fluffy. Add your heated syrup mix and continue to stir. Toss in the food coloring when the mixture is smooth.

4: Mix everything together, the dry and the liquid, and form “sandwiches” out of the resulting mold. For example, one macaron will require two mounds, a top and a bottom.

5: Place your mounds on a baking sheet and put them in the oven at 400°F for at least five minutes. Depending on the power of your machine and the size of the mounds, it may take up to 10 minutes. You want them to become glossy and firm.

6: Remove the mounds from the oven and let them cool.

7: Spread raspberry jam across half of the mounds. Put the rest on top to complete the “sandwich.”

8: Serve and enjoy!

They serve good amount of food and sometimes offer free meal for kids on the weekend. I had this salad actually last Halloween trick or treat at the waterfront. We stopped by at stean n’ Shake for dinner. It was ok.

Hungry for T.G.I.F

TGIF in the Philippines serve food way better than TGIF here in the US. Although this is an American food establishment but the food they serve over there have better choices. Looking at these delicious foods in the picture makes me hungry and crave for some Filipino food. their restaurant actually was decorated with American icon and stuff like Elvis Presly, Superman, American landmarks and street and post cards. I am impress how Cebu City become a progressive city in the Philippines. The thought of those cool restaurant that serves yummylicious and scrumptious food makes me miss my country more.

Meanwhile, I ordered a mojito drink in my meal that got me a little tipsy after i finished this one single glass. It taste yummy and I wish i could have one of this right now. After our meal at TGIf (this was in the summer at Cebu City) we went to Ayala center and I almost got into a fight because of this stupid playground rule, that you have to wear sock when you’re inside the play area and kids are not allowed without adult supervision. I had no choice but to buy a sock at Rustan’s which cost me 800 pesos. then one of the employee who was in charge at that time had his kid inside bullying other kids. My poor Jake who doesn’t like to fight got bullied but my brat girl fight back and scream at the kid. And because the spirit of alcohol was in me so i yelled at the kid and the father.
