A mommy friend from the Philippines and I were chatting over Facebook and I learned that she is a breastfeeding advocate. Although I knew the basic information about breastfeeding, it was still very interesting to know about what she has learned throughout her experience.
She shared that when she was pregnant with her first born, she read a lot about breastfeeding because she wanted to make breastfeeding successful. She even received several books that first-time-mom may find handy as gifts but she didn’t really read through them. Learning about breastfeeding was her priority. Because of that, she was able to breastfeed her first born until she turned three.
She believes in the power of information. It is there for us to use and take advantage of. When she got pregnant with her second child, cord blood banking became the new trend. She read a lot of information about it from sites like www.Cryo-Cell.com and even request for information from www.Cryo-Cell.net. Unfortunately, since it was still pretty expensive in the Philippines because they’re just starting out, she wasn’t able to try it but maybe in her next pregnancy, she’s looking forward to cord blood banking.
